Job Summary:
This position prepares finished goods for shipment. Verifies completeness of shipment against shipping order. Packs shipments, affixes shipping labels, and helps load trucks. Performs any other tasks assigned by the Shipping Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verifies completeness of shipment against shipping order
- Assembles, packs, protects, labels, and weighs shipments
- Loads and unloads trucks using material handling equipment and forklift
- Assists with any other tasks assigned by the Shipping Manager
- Maintains clean work area
Experience & Education:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1-3 months of related experience and/or training
- Combination of education and experience
- Good judgement of color, design, and print quality
Skills
- Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos
- Able to write simple correspondences
- Able to communicate effectively one-on-on and in groups with customers and other employees
- Able to perform basic mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
